Kirstina Ward (they/he)
I was born in New Mexico and have lived in several parts of the state before settling Albuquerque and beginning my work as a Mental Health Clinician. The foundation of my work is in building an empathetic connection with you as a client and understanding that you are an expert in your experience and unique perspective.
As a multiply Neuro-Diverse clinician, I value a bottom-up approach - collaborating with you to build a foundation of self-knowledge and self-empowerment. I value introspection and deep self-awareness in line with a person-centered approach.
I proudly affirm and claim the LGBTQIA+ community and lean on my lived experience as a Queer clinician to connect with Queer clients, especially those in the process of deconstructing harmful messages both internal and external. I strive to foster a sex and kink-positive environment for all, including non-monogamous relationship structures with awareness that not all families look the same.
I employ a trauma-informed approach utilizing evidence based approaches including mindfulness practices, Motivational Interviewing, and systems based therapies. I have experience working with: ADHD, Anxiety, Autism, Depression, PTSD, Queer and Women’s issues.
I work with individuals, couples, and families. Telehealth only.
