A Bit About Andi

As the founder of Land of Mañana Counseling, I’m proud to offer a welcoming space where the Albuquerque community can access mental health care services. At Land of Mañana, we are committed to fostering a supportive environment not only for our clients but also for our team. By embracing a cooperative model, we ensure fair compensation and a healthy work-life balance for our therapists. This approach empowers all of us to show up as our best selves and provide the thoughtful, compassionate care our community deserves.

I am Chicana and I have lived in New Mexico my entire life. My family has deep roots throughout New Mexico and I am very passionate about healing the community that raised me as I have a deep love for New Mexico and all of our people.

I take a person-centered approach to counseling. For me this means that therapy begins by creating a safe space for all of my clients through empathy, and a relationship free of judgement.

Additionally, I incorporate body-centered mindfulness, somatic interventions and CBT techniques within my counseling approach. I am trained in EMDR therapy and love using this modality with clients who struggle with trauma, anxiety or other maladaptive beliefs towards self and the world around us.

I truly believe in a holistic approach to mental health care. I don't just see my clients as their diagnosis or their struggles but as a whole person with the ability to overcome their adverse life experiences. I also understand that therapy is not one size fits all what works for one client may not work for another. This is why I put the therapeutic relationship at the forefront of my work and approach treatment in a trauma informed, collaborative nature.

I primarily work with adults and adolescents. I have experience with complex trauma, postpartum mood disorders, depression, anxiety and difficult life transitions such as, parenting, divorce, new relationships, unexpected pregnancies.

I specialize in working with teen and young adult women who have experienced significant trauma within their lives. I specifically love working with young mothers.
