A Bit About Amanda

As a New Mexico native, I believe deeply in the transformative power of holistic healing.
My practice is rooted in the conviction that everyone possesses an inherent resilience
that can be uncovered through compassion and connection.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of New Mexico
and my Master’s degree in Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe. My
clinical work is defined by the creation of an empathetic, nonjudgmental space where
clients feel safe to explore the complexities of their unique emotional landscapes. I
believe that meaningful, lasting change is found within the compassionate connection
between therapist and client, the cultivation of self-safety, and the small, steady steps
toward growth.

My Therapeutic Approach

My practice is integrative, adaptable, and collaborative. I tailor my approach to meet the
unique needs of each individual, drawing from a rich blend of evidence-based
modalities, including: Internal Family Systems (IFS) - Informed Methods, Analytical
Therapy, Play Therapy & Creative Expression, Somatic Strategies, Attachment Theory,
CBT/DBT Interventions, and Trauma-Informed Care (RTM Protocol).
I work with individuals across the lifespan; primarily specializing in the child, adolescent,
and young adulthood stages. I embrace the idea that creativity, curiosity, and self-
compassion are essential pathways to emotional regulation and self-understanding. I
often integrate expressive arts—such as storytelling, music, play, and art—alongside
traditional clinical techniques. By making therapy engaging and creative, I believe we
can often access insights and emotions on a deeper level.

Beyond the Therapy Room

When I am not in the office, I believe in nurturing my own creativity and curiosity. I am
an avid outdoors enthusiast and love hiking the beautiful, rugged trails of New Mexico
with my two dogs by my side. Gardening is another grounding practice for me, helping
me stay connected to the simple rhythms of nature.

Indoors, I find joy in a variety of expressive and playful activities. You might find me
painting on canvas, creating music, or curling up to watch a favorite TV series. Whether
I am trying a new recipe in the kitchen, reading a great book, or simply relaxing with a
warm cup of tea, I strive to bring that same sense of playfulness, comfort, and balance
into my daily life.
